We like to pull up the day’s headlines to find inspirational public interest stories, but unfortunately, that’s not always the case. The Washington town of Lynnwood recently suffered through two days of tragic headlines after two of the local high school’s students and football players died within 48 hours of each other.
The first blow was the loss of the team’s co-captain, Sayon Savorn. Seventeen-year-old Sayon committed suicide the night of June 9th and was discovered by his mother. The following day, fellow co-captain Ryan Truong was also found dead. It’s believed Truong, 17, died of natural causes, though tests from Snohomish County Medical Examiner have yet to determine a cause of death.
