Every year, The United States Social Security Administration releases a list of the 200 most popular baby names for boys and girls. It's a retrospective, so this year, on May 11th, the 2017 list came out. Though, like many things, change comes slowly. The top 10 names for boys and girls remained largely the same, with Emma retaining the top spot for the girls, and Liam being bumped up to first from second for the boys.
Two of the few shocks were, for the first time in seventeen years, Michael didn't appear on the top ten list for the boys, and Emily dropped out of the top ten list for the girls for the first time since 1990. The full list of all 200 names can be seen here.
