Singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding announced to fans on Twitter today her recent appointment as a United Nations Environment Global Goodwill Ambassador. Goulding made the announcement while visiting the U.N. Environment headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya.
The British pop star said it was a "huge honour" and discussed her goals for the new role:
My focus will be on amplifying the activism of young people committed to creating a bright future. I want as many people as possible to become advocates for the planet.
