New details emerge after Steve Bannon is forced out as chief strategist.
Bannon's ouster was allegedly several weeks coming, but the New York Times says Bannon got the boot after the progressive publication The American Prospect published a shocking interview. Perhaps the juiciest (and pettiest) part of the Times article is Bannon's tense relationship with First Daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, both key members of the Trump administration.
The Times reports that, according to White House aides, Bannon "openly complained to White House colleagues that he resented how Ms. Trump would try to undo some of the major policy initiatives that he and Mr. Trump agreed were important to the president’s economic nationalist agenda, like withdrawing from the Paris climate accords."
The article goes on to say:
Mr. Bannon made little secret of the fact that he believed ‘Javanka,’ as he referred to the couple behind their backs, had naïve political instincts and were going to alienate Mr. Trump’s core coalition of white working-class voters.
Now that Bannon is safely back at Breitbart, he can go after his political targets still in the White House, and that clearly includes Ms. Trump and Mr. Kushner.
Surprisingly, the nickname "Javanka" didn't shock Twitter:
Twitter users apparently have some NSFW nicknames, too:
So, Javanka better watch out:
