A great deal of attention was given to the 44th season premiere of Saturday Night Live, and for good reason: Matt Damon crushed it as Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Now, the choice to have Damon play the part seems a perfect casting choice, but it was actually a last minute decision by co-head writer Colin Jost that pulled it all together.
Vulture is reporting Damon (Good Will Hunting, Bourne Identity and Saving Private Ryan), was asked after midnight on Friday, and agreed to play the part. He then jumped on a plane at 4 am Saturday morning and flew from his home in California to New York to perform the skit that night. Talk about dedication!

Amazing they pulled it together so fast.
Many folks are still singing Damon's praises over his Kavanaugh impersonation.
Giggles aside, let's hope we don't have to watch Damon portray Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court for a future sketch.
