The Fresh Prince of Bel Air is easily one of the most beloved shows to ever grace our television screens. It's funny, poignant, political, and features some serious talent. People still talk about legendary moments, like Aunt Viv dancing those younger girls straight into the ground, or Will's heartbreaking realization that his father will never be a father figure to him. The Carlton dance will never go away. It's pretty much universally loved.
Except by the Fresh Prince himself.
Smith recently told UK television host Graham Norton that he thinks his performance in the show is terrible and he can't bear to watch it.
It was my very first role, and I was very, very focused on being successful, so I learned the whole script and everyone else’s lines. If you watch the first four or five episodes, you can see I’m mouthing other people’s lines. It’s terrible and I can’t bear to watch it.
