Photo Of Protesting White Supremacists With Torches Becomes The Internet's Newest Meme

By Brian Skellenger

On Friday evening, white supremacists took to the streets in Charlotteville, Virginia ahead of Saturday's planned "Unite the Right" rally aimed at protesting the removal of a statue of Confederate General Robert E. Lee.

Carrying tiki torches and chanting "Blood and soil!" and "You will not replace us!" the group of white nationalists grew violent, forcing Gov. Terry McAuliffe to declare a state of emergency on Saturday morning, effectively canceling the planned noon rally.

Once photos of the white supremacists hit Twitter, users declared a state of meme-ing.
