Now that the holidays are winding down, it's always fun to see how everyone else made merry. Instagram pictures of families around the fire. Facebook posts of children on Santa's knee. Twitter shots of fantastic sun-drenched vacations.
Andy Lassner, an executive producer on The Ellen Degeneres Show, decided to compare the holiday vacations of three high profile women: Chelsea Clinton and... Ivanka and Tiffany Trump.
Different priorities is a bit of an understatement:
Chelsea Clinton, former First Daughter and current vice chair at the Clinton Foundation:
Current First Daughters, Tiffany, socialite and college student, and Ivanka, fashion designer and Presidential advisor:
It looks like Chelsea spent at least part of her holiday helping call attention to Lin-Manuel Miranda's efforts with Toys“R”Us to bring toys to the children of Puerto Rico.
Ivanka and Tiffany went to the beach.
Everyone is allowed time away, of course, especially during the holidays. But the side-by-side comparison does illustrate a vast difference in priorities.
Twitter wasted no time weighing in on the women's choices:
Some comments were pretty brutal — but on point:
But setting aside our opinions of the Presidential daughters, it's important to remember the people of Puerto Rico. It's been more than 100 days since Hurricane Maria devastated the island, and many people are still without clean drinking water and electricity.
The giving shouldn't stop just because the holidays are over.
