Republicans Reportedly Knew About 2nd Kavanaugh Accuser—And Tried To Speed Up Confirmation In Response

The plot thickens for embattled Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. After a week of contending with allegations of sexual misconduct, yet another accuser has stepped forward.

According to Jane Mayer and Ronan Farrow at the New Yorker, several Republican Senior staffers were made aware of the second allegation last week. Yet, they continued their attempts to push through Kavanaugh's nomination without a moment's pause.

The latest survivor to step forward is named Deborah Ramirez, who attended Yale University with Kavanaugh. Ramirez claims Kavanaugh inappropriately exposed himself to her. 

Her story seems eerily similar to that of Dr. Christine Ford. Both women describe a drunk Kavanaugh who crossed serious boundaries at social events.

Kavanaugh maintains his innocence in both cases.
