Beto O'Rourke Quoted The Clash In Debate Against Ted Cruz—And It Was Epic 🔥

By Jonna Ivin-Patton

Senator Ted Cruz and his opponent, Beto O'Rourke, did not hold back Friday night in their first debate leading up to the Texas Senate race. Every time O'Rourke opens his mouth, whether it's to use the f-word or to quote '70s punk band The Clash, he gains more fans.

Debate viewers caught the reference when O'Rourke mentioned Cruz's ties to big corporations:

I want to make sure that we're are not giving away to corporations or special interests. That's what Senator Cruz would do thanks to the contributions he's received from those political action committees. He's working for the clampdown and the corporations and the special interests.  He's not working for the people of Texas.
