Could a simple tattoo really have spoiled the ending to the most anticipated final season of television, perhaps ever?
During a trip to Sydney, Australia, Sophie Turner, Game of Thrones’ Sansa Stark, and beau Joe Jonas decided to stop into a local tattoo shop for some new ink.
The artist, Lauren Winzer, took to Instagram after their sessions to showcase the work she’d done for the two stars:
While Jonas’s tattoos are a jumbling of different pop culture references, some believe Turner’s may hint at a possible outcome for the final season of the HBO series.
The tattoo features the House Stark sigil and part of a memorable quote uttered first by Ned Stark, and some Instagram users are afraid that Turner and Winzer may have inadvertently revealed the fate of the Stark children at the end of the next season.
Take a look for yourself:
The quote, first uttered in the first episode of the series from Ned’s mouth to Arya’s ears, is:
“When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.”
In context, it sounds less like the entirety of the Stark family survives, and more like one of the Winterfell pack is forced to sacrifice themselves for the sake of the whole.
Which begs the question: which one is the lone wolf?
The tattoo has certainly sparked a debate:
We could ponder the meaning behind the quote and Turner’s new tattoo all day or we can just appreciate it as a fine piece of Game of Thrones art?
But in the end, Kaitlyn makes a good point:
Lmao y’all think this is a spoiler. Have you seen GOT? No one is safe on that show.— Kaitlyn Danielle (@kgerhold93) June 14, 2018
