As an actor Robert DeNiro is known for taking tough roles—head on. Sunday night's 72nd Annual Tony Awards was no exception, where the Oscar winner took on the President of the United States during his introduction of rocker, Bruce Springsteen's performance.
Unfortunately for viewers at home, the censors at CBS were quick-on-the draw and dropped De Niro's comments before they reached our ears.
But never fear #NoFOMO here, outlets on the scene documented those words and released them online shortly after, so that we could all have the pleasure of rejoicing in his headline making speech.
Which means, although the video below is bleeped, you can still watch it (and De Niro's awesome expression) as you read the actor's viral words below:
I just want to say one thing: Fuck Trump. It’s no longer down with Trump. It’s fuck Trump.
Variety was among the first outlets to confirm De Niro’s comments, which had been bleeped during the CBS broadcast on Sunday.
After the theater erupted in applause (and eventually a standing ovation), the actor continued, praising Springsteen's activism with this message:
In these perilous times, you rock the vote, always fighting for truth, transparency and integrity in government. Boy, do we need that now!
But it wasn't only the audience at New York’s Radio City Music Hall that appreciated his comments, Twitter's response was also supportive of the septuagenarian's comments:
Apparently De Niro's presidential jabs were a little something folks running production at the awards show may not have been expecting—nevertheless, it looks as though they were still prepared to handle it:
De Niro: “FUCK TRUMP!” Standing O. Repeats it! TV production people wearing headsets are staring at each other with mouths agape. Amazing live TV moment.— Scott Feinberg (@ScottFeinberg) June 11, 2018
And if you still wish you could delight in seeing and hearing the words for yourself, there exists at least one bit of uncensored video of De Niro's anti-Trump rant found making its rounds on Twitter:

Melanie had this quick reminder for the few Trump supporters online that were offended by De Niro's exercise in free speech:
I'm laughing at people mad at DeNiro. Seriously...a president who is in bed with the Russians, cheats on his wife with porn stars, and is obstructing justice deserves every word.— Melanie the Crazy Hair Gal (@DivineMzM) June 11, 2018
