If you think you’ve seen everything, but haven’t seen the photo of President Trump and Kim Kardashian, then you’ve truly seen nothing. While it’s such an easy image to poke fun at, the reasoning behind it is actually noble.
WATCH: Kim Kardashian arrives at the White House to meet with both Trump and Jared Kushner to discuss her campaign to help 63-year-old Alice Marie Johnson, who is serving a life sentence without parole for a drug offense https://t.co/crvNfjRaxm #tictocnews pic.twitter.com/GDo6CY2snD— TicToc by Bloomberg (@tictoc) May 30, 2018
When you first hear that Kim Kardashian, reality TV star and walking brand, was granted access to the White House, you probably assume she’d use it in a roundabout way to promote herself. Instead, she opted to have a real discussion about 63-year-old Alice Marie Johnson. It may not be a name you recognize, but Kardashian’s visit to the White House put it back in the headlines.
I would like to thank President Trump for his time this afternoon. It is our hope that the President will grant clemency to Ms. Alice Marie Johnson who is serving a life sentence for a first-time, non-violent drug offense.— Kim Kardashian West (@KimKardashian) May 31, 2018
We are optimistic about Ms. Johnson’s future and hopeful that she —and so many like her—will get a second chance at life.— Kim Kardashian West (@KimKardashian) May 31, 2018
Happy Birthday Alice Marie Johnson. Today is for you 🙏🏼✨— Kim Kardashian West (@KimKardashian) May 30, 2018
In 1996, Johnson was convicted on eight criminal counts relating to a cocaine trafficking operation. A year later, she was sentenced to life in prison. The focus of Kardashian’s visit was to discuss pardoning the great-grandmother. Beyond that, she, the president, and senior adviser Jared Kushner exchanged ideas about prison reform and sentencing.
It’s an important discussion that needs to be had, but it’s safe to say nobody expected it to come from the Kardashian-West corner, especially since the reality star has been too busy cleaning up the messes left in her husband’s wake.
Kim Kardashian is at the White House discussing prison reform with President Donald Trump. I quit drugs for this?!?— James Patrick Stuart (@japastu) May 30, 2018
Whatever one’s opinion is of Kim Kardashian, her efforts are commendable. Unfortunately, not everybody sees it that way. There are those that think it’s a joke that the discussion is coming from a reality TV star, such as “Legendary Rapper” R.A. the Rugged Man who states, “USA actually deserves this. We live in a [b]raindead sheep culture that worships celebrities just for being celebrities.”
BREAKING: Kim Kardashian is headed to the White House today to discuss Prison reform with Jared Kushner.— Brian Krassenstein (@krassenstein) May 30, 2018
No, I'm not making this up.
Call me crazy, but perhaps ex-prisoners and prison guards should be discussing this, and not a Reality TV star...
Donald Trump and Kim Kardashian are meeting at the White House today. lol— R.A. the Rugged Man (@RAtheRuggedMan) May 30, 2018
When Reality Stars run our country.. idiocracy is real. USA actually deserves this. We live in a Braindead sheep culture that worships celebrities just for being celebrities. Fame 'trumps' accomplishments
If Kardashian’s visit to the White House accomplished anything, it either confused the masses or made the star a bigger joke than many already thought she was.

Tomorrow: Daffy Duck will discuss reducing the Prime Rate.
Sadly, however, the jokes and quips overshadow the discussion that should be happening about Alice Marie Johnson, the actual reason Kardashian met with the president.
Heard Kim Kardashian was going to talk prison reform with Trump. I laughed.— Carloose Welch (@HipHop101Trivia) May 30, 2018
Then I read that she was trying to help free a grandmother who got life for a 1st time non violent drug offense. She's already done 20 years.
That shit ain't so funny no more.
Free Alice Marie Johnson.
For all of you asking what does @KimKardashian know about prison reform, she is there today to try to free Alice Marie Johnson, a great grandmother locked up for life in prison after a single non violent drug charge (she had no criminal history) - isn’t that a good thing?— Tracy Nguyen Romulus (@tracyromulus) May 30, 2018
