Justin Timberlake took a short break from his Man in the Woods tour over the weekend to visit a survivor of the Santa Fe High School shooting, Sarah Salazar.
According to ET, Timberlake brought Salazar a gift for the visit. The high school student underwent an emergency surgery after the shooting, and has spent subsequent weeks in the ICU. According to a Go Fund Me page to raise money for Sarah's medical expenses, she suffered a shattered shoulder, as well as several rib fractures. She is also "intubated and is recovering from the trauma to her neck vessels." To date, the Go Fund Me page has raised over $20,000 of a $60,000 goal.
On May 18, ten innocent lives were taken in the Santa Fe High School shooting. Thirteen are being treated at hospitals in the area. Sarah's mother, Sonia Lopez-Puentes, took to Facebook to share a photo of her daughter's visit with one of the most famous pop singers and actors in the world. She wrote, “Justin Timberlake visited Sarah Salazar this morning and brought her a gift."
According to her GoFundMe page, Sarah will require several surgeries in the upcoming months. Her aunt describes her healing as the "beginning of a long road to recovery."
