Tyler the Creator is no stranger to controversy. After being banned in the U.K. in 2015 for music that “encourages violence and intolerance of homosexuality” and “fosters hatred with views that seek to provoke others to terrorist acts” but also admitting he had a boyfriend when he was 15, no one is ever really sure where the rapper stands.
Tyler at one time said in regards to his past relationships and accusations of being homophobic:
I had a boyfriend when I was fifteen in fucking Hawthorne [California], ni**a. If that's not open-minded, I don't know what the fuck that is.
To be fair, Tyler was accused of homophobic and sexist lyrics nearly ten years ago. So perhaps he has changed. His recent lyrics that give a shout out to Call Me By Your Name star Timothee Chalamet has fans hopeful but a little leery.

Luckily this writer wasn't the only one who didn't get this tweet. There were others:

Not everyone was sure... about anything:
I think Tyler is just being cheeky. He has been criticized for homophobic lyrics for years.— John Bear (@johnbearwithme) March 30, 2018
But the idea was just too delicious for some:
tyler rapped about timothée’s skin glowing and being clear of acne these are the lyrics i deserve— ً (@futildevices) March 29, 2018
We'll wait and see on that one.
