While "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" was eagerly anticipated worldwide, the cinematic event was bittersweet for nearly everyone. After the untimely passing of Carrie Fisher, whose portrayal of Princess (and eventual General) Leia Organa was a favorite of the enduring series, fans knew this would likely be the last time they saw Leia onscreen. The loss has weighted the film for Fisher's co-stars too. Mark Hamill, who'd portrayed her brother Luke Skywalker since the first film, recently revealed he has yet to watch his final scene with Fisher.
“I can’t watch that scene. It’s just, you know, takes me out of the movie completely,” the actor told Entertainment Tonight. “I’ll get over it, but she’ll be forever missed and she’s irreplaceable.”
The internet grieved with him.
I don't blame him... Pretty powerful! Just watched that on the behind the scenes.— Mike Lamb (@MichaelnLamb) March 23, 2018

The series has at least one more installment, and though its protagonists have changed over the decades, the series' spirit of courage and hope continue to pervade with Fisher and Hamill among its most emblematic faces.
