Love, Simon is the first major studio movie about a gay teen romance and it's garnering rave reviews at the box office! The movie is currently certified 91% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, which indicates its likability among critics and audiences, but has also attracted the adoration of celebrity viewers. One such celebrity, Kristen Bell, loved the movie so much she decided to buy out entire theaters so more people could see it.
Love, Simon fans are reaching out to Bell with their thanks!
To many young people in the LGBTQ community, this movie could make a huge difference.
I'm not in the Midwest anymore, but as a former kid of the LGBTQ variety from there, thank you for doing this for those who are still there. I really hope some of the lower income communities see this and are able to attend. Those kids can get it the worst.— Ben Gallaty (@ben_gallaty) March 23, 2018
WHAT??? @IMKristenBell, you are the best! Seen #LoveSimon 5 times already. Wish I lived in Minneapolis so I could see again with all of you! What a sweet thing to do! Completely understand your crush on this great film. @lovesimonmovie @GBerlanti https://t.co/9VbexIv0Fd— Love, Trev (@OvaThrone) March 23, 2018
The gesture means a lot even if some fans can't make it to the screening...
It's a beautiful movie -- It's very generous of you to share the love with others!— Logan Lee (@iamloganlee) March 24, 2018
And Bell isn't the only celebrity buying out theaters! Neil Patrick Harris and Matt Bomer are also making sure people come out to watch.
People can't seem to get enough of Love, Simon, and hopefully these free screenings will help to get the word out even faster! According to Kristen Bell, everyone should see this movie.
