In Tuesday's Chicago-area primary, Holocaust denier Arthur Jones is now the official Chicago-area Republican GOP nominee after running unopposed in the primaries. Arthur has a section on his campaign website titled "holocaust?", and actively has been a part of racist and anti-Semitic organizations since the 1970's.

No Republican stepped up to oppose him.
On Tuesday, despite his vocal Holocaust denial, his anti-Semitic rhetoric, and his white supremacist views, 20,339 Illinois Republicans voted for him. pic.twitter.com/yAbAlAN1JS
Even though Arthur did have some support from a few voters, he won because he ran unopposed. Although it's disturbing that 17,000 people voted for him, it also is important to mention that he ran in a heavily democratic area.
Yes, Arthur Jones is neo-Nazi, Holocaust denier who has been disavowed by the Illinois Republican party. But he did not "win" the GOP primary tonight, he ran unopposed — in a heavily Dem district.— Sarah Mimms (@SarahMMimms) March 21, 2018

SEVENTEEN THOUSAND PEOPLE IN ILLINOIS decided that a Nazi was better than a Democrat. 🙄🙄🙄

Some people put the blame on Trump for supporting and even encouraging Nazis and other evil acts of hate, as well as the GOP for allowing this disgraceful nomination to happen in the first place.
I'm so desensitized to seeing literal nazi crapshits wearing them I didn't notice the MAGA hat until the fourth or fifth time I saw this pic.— Zeddy (@Zeddary) March 21, 2018
Anyway, here's Arthur Jones, your new GOP standard-bearer in Illinois' 3rd Congressional District. pic.twitter.com/pQONOpxyN5
Hey @GOP the candidates you people keep putting up are monstrous. Your party is dead. Decent Republicans fled you. This is who you are now. You should be ashamed & do anything you can to stop this. You enable it. You do nothing. Cowards and traitors. https://t.co/NPReflhE7y— Michelle (@SoSofieFatale) March 21, 2018
Congrats, @GOP— Maggie Jordan: (@MaggieJordanACN) March 21, 2018
Republican candidate Arthur Jones, a Holocaust denier who has been disavowed by his own party, will be the GOP's nominee in a suburban Chicago congressional district after he ran unopposed.
Jones said he's a former leader of the American Nazi Party. https://t.co/yvbQlpCJlX
The Republican party and the GOP actually denounced Jones but the Republican party somehow forgot to pin another candidate up against him in the Chicago-area primaries.
The Illinois Republican Party chairman denounced Arthur Jones as "a Nazi whose disgusting, bigoted views have no place in our nation’s discourse." Jones won the Republican primary in the state's Third Congressional District on Tuesday. https://t.co/FnLcTYRmeq— NYT National News (@NYTNational) March 21, 2018
Arthur Jones capturing a Republican nomination for Congress in Illinois is a disgrace.I’m disgusted. His candidacy has been rejected by the Republican Party at every level.Jones is a Nazi, not a Republican. There’s no place for Holocaust deniers &White Supremacists in my Party— Norm coleman (@normcoleman) March 21, 2018
Most people agree that this is not normal, or at least hopefully not the new normal!
Hopefully this embarassing monstrosity will never happen again. Lets learn from this!
