Former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his adult daughter, Yulia, are in critical condition in Salisbury, England, after being found unconscious, poisoned by a nerve agent. The father and daughter, as well as one of the first officers on the scene, remain in intensive care.
Skripal was found guilty by Russia in 2006 of spying for Britain. He was granted safety in the U.K. in 2010. Skripal's wife, son, and brother have all died within the last two years.
Many people suspect that Putin has placed a target on Skripal's back:
Very worrying news that #SergeiSkripal , #Russian imprisoned for spying for UK & swapped in 2010 as part of 'Anna Chapman' exchange, seems to have been poisoned in #Salisbury. Another example of Russian intel treating UK as a free fire zone? https://t.co/KX1gkM4Chj— Ian Bond (@CER_IanBond) March 5, 2018
Innocent victims of ugly act. How sad. "Scotland Yard assistant chief commissioner Mark Rowley said the police officer who was first to the spot where Skripal was found in Salisbury on Sunday afternoon was “seriously ill” in hospital. His condition had deteriorated. "— Mr (@cblmbrg) March 7, 2018
Robert Mueller's investigation into Russia's interference of the American presidential election involves Skripal's ties to Christopher Steele, the English spy behind the infamous Trump-Russia dossier.
This has led to speculation that the attack was launched to hinder Mueller's investigation:
The Poisoning of Sergei Skripal and his daughter, if at the hands of Russia, is clearly a warning to other spies and intel officials cooperating with US authorities in the Trump/Russia investigation.— Brian Krassenstein🐬 (@krassenstein) March 6, 2018
Russia's goal of chaos is backed up by fear and death and Trump's complicit!

Skripal has done work with Christopher Steele and it is expected that Putin may have had him poisoned.
BREAKING: The attack on the ex Russian spy, Sergei Skripal and his daughter is now being treated by Scotland Yard as attempted murder by administering a nerve agent.— Brian Krassenstein🐬 (@krassenstein) March 7, 2018
Looks like Russia is behind this, and it appears that they may be sending a signal to others...
Sergei Skripal was probably murdered for sharing intelligence with Steele, like so many other intelligence officers who have 'fallen' out of the apartment windows and 'committed suicide' since the steele dossier was published. Coincidence? I think not.— Olaf Shiel (@olafshiel) March 6, 2018
Wow. The theory is that Christopher Steele recruited Sergei Skripal. Steele was "our man in Moscow" at the time.— Ⓑig Ⓑag of Ⓒrisps (@BBCPropaganda) March 6, 2018
To many, Russia appears to be the root of what would be yet another insidious development in Putin's covert acts of aggression against western countries. While authorities have identified the specific nerve agent used against Skripal and his daughter, they have yet to release that information, as it appears highly specialized.
Skripal and his daughter continue to fight for their lives.
