Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele go way back. Long before they starred in the Emmy-winning sketch series Key and Peele, they were cast members on the FOX sketch show Mad Tv. The pair have been close friends ever since!
This past Sunday, March 4th, Jordan Peele made history as the first ever individual to win the Best Original Screenplay Oscar for his debut solo film. He was also the first ever African-American screenwriter to take home the Academy Award in this category.
Though Peele was undoubtedly grateful for the victory, it looks like Key might have been just as happy for his friend:
Key couldn't help but show his partner some love on Twitter:
Twitter is fawning over their beautiful friendship...
This kind of moment will be hard to match...
Find yourself a woman who looks at you the same way Key does Peele.— David Marcus (@THEDavidMarcus) March 5, 2018
Not many things are better than seeing your best friend see their dreams come true. ❤️— Meg Bee 🌧 (@onedankmom) March 5, 2018
The Key and Peele fans were also overjoyed!
We all deserve a friend who supports us this way!

Keegan's face reached previously unprecedented levels of pride.
He looks like his baby just got picked in the draft. This is so wonderful.— Joe Clark (@Mrs_joeclark) March 5, 2018
This gigantic success has been a long time in the making for the two comedians.
Bro I remember when they were stuck making YouTube videos after madtv and before they got their own show they deserve fame nothing but respect for these guys and their grind— Big Riley (@IBig_RileyI) March 6, 2018
Now, the only thing to do...is PARTY!
This is the correct response of a great and supportive friend. Celebrate on, you two.— Madame Leiderhosen (@coldfriday) March 6, 2018
Hopefully there's many more Oscars to come! Either way, these two will be there to support each other.
That's what true friends do!
I love how happy and proud you look. Y'all family. Period.— Regina Foertsch (@oREGINAl49ers) March 5, 2018
