Adam Rippon, the 28-year-old figure skater who recently won bronze as part of the team figure skating event at the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, as well as a budding LGBTQ icon, stopped by the Ellen DeGeneres Show in an episode that aired on Thursday.
Rippon covered Mike Pence, his celebrity crushes, and work he's doing to raise money for GLAAD:
On the topic of Vice President Pence, Rippon said he has no desire to speak to the rampantly anti-LGBTQ politician who has pushed conversion therapy. Instead, he feels that if Pence wants to speak to LGBTQ people, he should speak to those directly maligned by policies that he has pushed.
Some felt he should have that conversation anyway:
@Adaripp If VP Pence is open to that conversation, I ask you to reconsider your decision to say no. That is a perfect opportunity for you to make a human connection and speak for those that cannot. You have the power to say no, but maybe you Yes is more important now.— TableBoothOrBar (@TableBoothorBar) March 2, 2018
He also talked about his crushes on Harry Styles, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Shawn Mendes.
Michelle thought that if Pence believes sexuality can be changed, maybe he could do Rippon a solid:
Maybe the VP can work on changing Harry , jake or shawn....— Michelle (@Michelle4054501) March 1, 2018
Others were just here for his three crushes:
The fact that he is 25+ and has a crush on @ShawnMendes. ME— Naomi Chun (@nehomieee) March 1, 2018
How he thinks his other celeb crush will be upset he's moved on to Shawn. ME
He has an Olympic medal. I've worn one at one point in my life.
HELLO @Adaripp - we're the same person.https://t.co/hwicz3kYZf
But some thought Ellen threw some shade at these three men:
Rippon also talked about his fundraising for GLAAD's Youth Engagement Program and the importance of LGBTQ role models:
We’re getting these kids, and they’re becoming activists in their community. When I was young, to have had somebody out there to look up to… it would have made a world of difference, it would have changed my life.
He also pointed out how one in five kids these days identify as LGBTQ:
So look to your left, look to your right, and if no one is gay, you’re probably the one.
Many thanked Rippon for his fundraising efforts for GLAAD:
I freaking love you. Not just for being openly gay but for being openly human. I am your new best friend— m rainninfire (@mecall55) March 1, 2018

But mostly, people just expressed their admiration:
Adam you are just an absolute doll and Ellen you need to have him on weekly. I see a special reporter thing going on at big events like the Oscars which I belive is taking place this weekend is it not? Hmm🤔— Katie C. (@naughTAY2968) March 1, 2018

Oh how I love him. He is so funny. Kinda wish he had his own chat show because he makes me smile so much. Could watch him for hours. ♥️— Kelly Morgan (@kelzmorgs) March 1, 2018
It's safe to say we could all use some more Adam Rippon in our lives.
