Dog's Inspirational Comeback Story Sadly Gets Cut Short On First Day Of Westminster Dog Show

A German Shepard named Fanucci was one of the early favorites heading into the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show this year. He was considered a comeback kid because in 2014, Fanucci jumped out of a towed van that was moving at high speed on the highway. According to the Huffington Post, he almost died, and his leg was fractured in multiple places and had to be put back together with pins and rods. He managed to recover with the aid of acupuncture and physical therapy, and many thought he was a strong contender for at least a "best in breed." But on Monday, Fanucci developed a hematoma in his left ear, causing it to flop painfully, and he had to be pulled from the competition.

Some were upset about this...

Others had suggestions for a replacement...

Some thought this was all just a distraction...

But most just wanted Fanucci to know one thing...

Amen.
