There are few things that make the citizens of Twitter happier than when a silly inside joke goes way too far. So, of course, people are absolutely loving the story of the Feel The Dern t-shirt.
It all started innocently enough when a small group of friends -- who were devoted Laura Dern fans -- had the t-shirts made so that they could wear them to watch Dern in The Last Jedi. The group posted pics of themselves in the shirts to Instagram.
Laura loved them so much she re-posted the pic from her account:
Fast forward a couple months and suddenly Reese Witherspoon is reaching out to Kevin Porter who was the uber fan who had the shirts made for the group, asking for some for herself and her friends.
Why? Because she's awesome.
Reese asked Dern out to dinner and then surprised her with a whole squad all sporting some #DernSwag.
Laura loved it:
But once people got their eyes on the sweet swag, they started asking where they could get a shirt for themselves...
And then one seriously important Dern fan spoke up:
And that sent poor Kevin into a tizzy:
But Laura was all about it:
Clearly demand was exceeding Kevin's ability to supply, considering he was making all of these shirts at a mall kiosk manned by one very confused attendant. Something had to be done, but he didn't feel right making a profit off of his fellow Derners.
So, Kevin and Laura came up with a great solution:
