A U.K. man, Chris McCabe, knew he'd have to get creative after the wind blew the door closed on his walk-in freezer. Stuck in below-freezing temperatures with the release button frozen stuck, McCabe channeled his inner MacGuyver. He picked up a three-pound blood sausage and used it as a battering ram against the frozen release button.
No-one could hear me banging. Black pudding saved my life. It was the right shape. I used it like the police use battering rams to break door locks in. It was solid, pointed and I could get plenty of weight behind it. I'm lucky really. We sell about two or three each week and that was the last one in there.

We're happy the blood pudding saved McCabe, but please don't ask us to eat it.
