A Scary 'Bomb Cyclone' Is Headed Towards America, But People Aren't Buying The Hype

A new term is hitting social media. "Bomb cylone" is what meteorologists call a phenomenon known as cyclogenesis. Many are saying that hurricane force winds combined with heavy snow and ice will hit the East Coast from Florida to New York.

Forecasts say the storm will land Thursday and Friday along the Eastern Seaboard, with New York taking the brunt of it.

But some tough East Coast residents are scoffing at the term "bomb cyclone" and chalking this up to just another winter storm, the likes of which they've weathered many times before.

On Twitter, not everyone is buying the hype:

Whatever you want to call it, one thing is clear: it's going to get nippy out there, so bundle up!
