Woman Asks Twitter To Tweet The First Simpsons Quote That Comes To Mind—And They Did

The Simpsons is the longest-running animated satire depicting the American working-class, and it shows no signs of slowing down. The Fox Broadacasting Company's show created by Matt Groening is currently in its 29th season.

Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie haven't aged a bit, and they plan on flaunting it as the show extends into 2019 for their recently announced 30th season.

After almost 30 years on television, The Simpsons have been an indelible part of American pop culture. So comedy writer Sara Gibbs asked Twitter to see if they can randomly quote from the series without thinking too much. Doh!

Newly coined phrases used in the show were adopted by viewers. "The Simpsons has apparently taken over from Shakespeare and the Bible as our culture's greatest source of idioms, catchphrases and  sundry other textual allusions," commented Mark Liberman, director of the Linguistic Data Consortium.

Fans were happy to fulfill Gibbs' request of providing memorable lines or phrases.

Faster than you can say "Springfield," her Twitter thread quickly filled up with various GIFs from the show. Did your favorite moment make it?
