Some things should be left to the professions. One of those is circumcision, because the ancient practice of tearing the foreskin off of a screaming infant sounds rather difficult. Right?
Who would attempt to do that on their own? Totally barbaric and inhumane.
Well, not according to Amazon. The shopping giant is selling an at-home circumcision set. Wait, what? Yes, now people with no medical experience or training can perform one of the most controversial genital mutilations in their own homes.
People of the internet are freaking out. Understandably.
Included are plastic, uncircumcised penises, scissors, scalpels, and a tweezer. At $200 it isn't cheap to do a botched procedure at home, thank goodness. While the 'training kit' appears to be intended for medical students there are no regulations on who can purchase it.
It has since been removed from Amazon UK, but is still being sold on Amazon US.
Are you kidding me? People are doing this?— Brenda Cushman (@Popskid01) December 22, 2017
I’m not surprised by much but this is insane,
unsafe and totally unnecessary.
What is this world that we're living in? Where someone can purchase an at-home circumcision guide online?
