When Clarence Clemons died in 2011, Bruce Springsteen had this to say about his good friend and long time collaborator:
"Clarence lived a wonderful life. He carried within him a love of people that made them love him. He created a wondrous and extended family. He loved the saxophone, loved our fans and gave everything he had every night he stepped on stage. His loss is immeasurable and we are honored and thankful to have known him and had the opportunity to stand beside him for nearly forty years. He was my great friend, my partner and with Clarence at my side, my band and I were able to tell a story far deeper than those simply contained in our music. His life, his memory, and his love will live on in that story and in our band. "
Recently, Designer and Illustrator Dan Cassaro shared a Twitter thread showing the numerous times the two friends kissed on stage during a show. It reminded everyone of what a special bond the musicians had.
I’m in love with this. Thanks for the Christmas gift.— Linda-Jeanne Mack (@ljmmack) December 22, 2017
If you don’t mind, Imma heart each and every one of these (not in a creepy way). Thanks for spreading some Brucemas spirit today— Dr Irene Musumeci Klein (@byronic) December 23, 2017
Mostly people were just happy to share some good vibes for a change.
I cannot tell you how big the smile on my face is because of this thread. I kiss my best friend all the time. I know how deeply Bruce and Clarence loved each other.— ScrowlingSpaceAce (@mcgarrygirl78) December 23, 2017
Clarence Clemens, you are missed.
