On Friday, President Trump’s former national security adviser, Michael T. Flynn, pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI regarding his communications with Russia, and has now agreed to fully cooperate with investigators. For many Americans, this turn of events represents a much-needed ray of hope — a feeling epitomized by Joy Behar's reaction when she first received and read the news on ABC's The View.

Live on the show, Behar read a card with the breaking news:

With increasing excitement — not unlike how Grandpa Joe read the instructions on the "Golden Ticket" to Charlie Bucket in Willie Wonka & the Chocolate Factory — she read:

ABC News, Brian Ross is reporting. Michael Flynn promised full cooperation to the Mueller team, and is prepared to testify that as a candidate Donald Trump directed him to make contact with the Russians.

She then exclaimed "YES!" and flung the card in the air in a show of Joy-ous celebration.

Republican strategist and political commentator Ana Navarro chimed in:

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas and it's beginning to look a lot like collusion.

Though the audience was applauding like crazy, not every co-host on The View was ecstatic to hear the news. Looking uncomfortable with her arms crossed, and through a tight smile and forced laughter, Meghan McCain magnanimously encouraged Behar to, "Take this moment, Joy. Take this moment — I give it to you."

A little later, McCain was not shy about sharing her two cents:

I really mean it when I say, 'you can take this moment, Joy.' . . . I concede to you that this is a good moment for you and its a good moment for democrats. Not to be the Debbie Downer, but if this somehow leads to indictment, the country's going to rip itself apart, and its not good for America.

Twitter users didn't hesitate to take McCain to task:

As the conversation got heated, co-host Sunny Hostin made a good point:

This is not a liberal moment guys. This is an American moment.

And Twitter agreed:

With emotions running high, some commenters mixed their opinions with a little levity:
