By now everyone knows that season 5 of Fixer Upper will be its last. But just because we know it doesn't mean we can all accept it.
In a blog post for Magnolia Farms back in September, the Gaines let their fans know they would be saying goodbye to the show.
This is just us recognizing that we need to catch our breath for a moment. Our plan is to take this time to shore up and strengthen the spots that are weak, rest the places that are tired and give lots of love and attention to both our family and our businesses.
Though the Gaines' seemed pretty clear on why they were leaving their successful show, Vanity Fair recently published an article by Allen Salkin that hinted there might be other reasons.
They’ve got to be pitching something in another format—maybe a talk show or something like that.
Chip and Jo’s decision to leave Fixer Upper is truly just based on their wanting to catch their breath for a minute—to rest, refresh, and spend even more time with their family and growing businesses. It is not based on anything related to Discovery-Scripps, or anything else that has been falsely reported.
For fans of the show who love watching the couple turn dumps into dream homes, we can only hope Vanity Fair is right.

The relationship that Chip and Joanna Gaines have is the epitome of goals. And if you don’t agree with me we can’t be friends.— Elisa Russ (@elisaruss_18) November 21, 2017
I would almost move to Waco, Texas just to let Chip and Joanna Gaines design and renovate my house— Allie (@BeanElizabeth1) November 25, 2017
