Alison Brie Reveals Why Recent Marriage To Dave Franco Has Her Feeling 'Free'

Alison Brie, star of NBC's Community and Netflix's GLOW, married Dave Franco in March 2017. Though she had previously said, "I don’t even know if I want to get married," it looks like the new lifestyle is suiting her well.

At a recent screening of The Disaster Artist, Brie told PEOPLE she's found a new headspace.

Brie commented:

Something about being married made me feel so settled, almost more free, I guess, rather than like trapped. It’s great. So now, let’s go do whatever we want. Onward and upward.

The actress attributes some of her confidence to working on GLOW, a comedy about the world of female wrestling:

That was such a body-positive experience and everything in general. I think I had a lot of confidence coming out of that.

Franco and Brie met at the New Orleans Mardi Gras parade in 2011 and dated for three years before Franco popped the question in August 2015.

They both appear in The Disaster Artist, directed by Dave's brother James, marking the first time they'll be onscreen together in a major film. The movie, which will be released December 1, follows the making of Tommy Wiseau's cult-hit The Room.

Brie has set the bar pretty high for anyone wondering what married life is like. She told Yahoo! Style:

I just met that person that I was like, ‘Well, I’m really in love with you and would like to grow old with you.' I actually think it’s much more romantic when two people are like, ‘Oh, I could go either way on marriage, but I want to marry you.'
