Since Bill O'Reilly's firing from Fox News following a slew of sexual harassment accusations, the former host has denied any truth behind the allegations and blamed the "politically motivated" media for his woes. Now, however, it seems O'Reilly has found a new entity who, in his mind, is responsible for multiple women accusing him of sexual misconduct: God.
On the Monday episode of his web series, No Spin News, O'Reilly commented:
You know, am I mad at God? Yeah, I'm mad at him. I wish I had more protection. I wish this stuff didn't happen. I can't explain it to you. Yeah, I'm mad at him.
O'Reilly's comments came just after a new story by the New York Times, which revealed O'Reilly paid a $32 million settlement to a former Fox News colleague just before renewing a $25 million-a-year contract.
When reached for comment God said “he knew what he was getting into.”— Kandy Barr (@KandyOBar) October 24, 2017
O'Reilly claims that "his wealth and fame make him a target for such allegations," but there are lots of famous people who aren't repeatedly settling sexual harassment lawsuits.
Mad at God? No one pays 32m over allegations. You paid the money so just stop talking and face up to who you really are— PJS (@Smallfindings) October 24, 2017
Wow. Everything that is going on in the world- war, starvation, violence, natural disasters, and this is what you are mad at God about. Wow.— Rebecca Dublinske (@RebeccaDublinsk) October 24, 2017
Do you suppose O’Reilly wondered if God is a woman during this trying time?— Eric (@SmelOdiesOG) October 24, 2017
For some, the allegations O'Reilly faces are reminiscent of the sexual misconduct accusations leveled against President Trump. At least 15 women have accused the President of some form of sexual harassment or assault since the 1980s.
Fairly certain God let you make your own bed on this one, dude.— Joe Cunningham (@JoePCunningham) October 24, 2017
