The Fate Of A Fan Favorite 'Game Of Thrones' Character May Have Just Been Confirmed
6 months ago

**Warning: Game of Thrones Spoilers ahead. STOP HERE if you don't want to know some CRAZY stuff.**

The seventh season of HBO's Game of Thrones ended on an ominous note. Jaime Lannister has parted ways with his sister, Cersei. Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen entered into a new, cringeworthy stage of their relationship. Sansa and Arya dispensed with Littlefinger, but must still contend with the impending White Walker threat bearing down on the north. Perhaps the question that left fans most on edge, however, had to do with fan-favorite character Tormund Giantsbane, who was last seen atop the Wall just before the Night King went absolutely APE and knocked that thing down. Viewers were left to question Tormund's fate. Is he all right? Did he somehow make it off the wall? Will we have to wait nearly two years to find out?

Fortunately, some eagle-eyed reporters may be able to give us an answer before then:

Reporters for Vanity Fair spotted Kristofer Hivju, who plays the fiery-haired wildling, on location in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He was seen alongside Ben Crompton, who plays Dolores Edd (Lord of the Night's Watch). And many of the show's scenes are filmed in Belfast.

Chances are looking good that Tormund will be riding again come season eight:

Many other Westeros nobility have been spotted in Belfast, including Arya (Maisie Williams), Sansa (Sophie Turner), Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), and even Daenerys herself (Emilia Clarke). Emilia may have been a little easier to recognize than she usually is.

Emilia Clarke decided to go FULL KHALEESI, and forgo her usual blonde wig for the final season:

Some lucky fans in Belfast managed to grab a souvenir:

As time slows to a crawl, Game of Thrones lovers continue to analyze every tiny detail leading up to the show's final season. The fact that Tormund is returning will make things a little easier, but that's not saying much when the show isn't slotted to return until Fall 2018 or even β€” if my nightmares come true β€” 2019.
