Authorities are investigating the possibility that Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock, who killed 58 at a country music concert in Las Vegas before taking his own life on Monday, October 2nd, may have been planning other shootings at music festivals and gatherings around the country.
Chicago police are investigating reports that Paddock booked rooms overlooking the planned site of Chicago's Lollapalooza. He apparently asked for rooms overlooking Grant Park during the festival, but then failed to arrive.
We are aware of the media reports and have been in communication with our federal partners.
