The Next Bachelor Apparently Had A Girlfriend Just A Couple Of Days Ago

ABC announced Thursday that Arie Luyendyk Jr., the runner-up on the 2012 season of The Bachelorette, would be the next man to lead The Bachelor. Luyendyk told that since he appeared on The Bachelorette, he's had just one serious girlfriend and they broke up 18 months ago. But Sydney Stempfley, a 26-year-old from Phoenix, says she was dating Arie days before ABC's announcement.

Stempfley has Instagram pictures to prove she and Luyendyk were together recently:

Go watch my boo @ariejr kick some ass today on at 5pm pacific

Most of the pictures' captions imply the two were more than friends:

Stempfley's Instagram shows pictures of the couple from August 2016 to June 2017:

Even though Luyendyk is featured frequently on Stempfly's Instagram, there is not a single picture of them on his page. But "Entertainment Tonight" said an anonymous source told them Luyendyk broke up with Stempfley two nights before he was named the next Bachelor.

Four days before the announcement, former Bachelor Sean Lowe rooted for Luyendyk, and Stempfley replied:

The Internet is abuzz with the drama.

@Reality Steve, who tweets spoilers from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, has been sharing juicy gossip:

ABC, Stempfley, and Luyendyk have all declined to comment.
