ABC announced Thursday that Arie Luyendyk Jr., the runner-up on the 2012 season of The Bachelorette, would be the next man to lead The Bachelor. Luyendyk told People.com that since he appeared on The Bachelorette, he's had just one serious girlfriend and they broke up 18 months ago. But Sydney Stempfley, a 26-year-old from Phoenix, says she was dating Arie days before ABC's announcement.
Even though Luyendyk is featured frequently on Stempfly's Instagram, there is not a single picture of them on his page. But "Entertainment Tonight" said an anonymous source told them Luyendyk broke up with Stempfley two nights before he was named the next Bachelor.
The Internet is abuzz with the drama.
You're being sold a load of crap with Arie. The biggest dog they've ever cast as lead in Bachelor history. Good luck. He's gonna need it.— RealitySteve (@RealitySteve) September 7, 2017
They're definitely gonna get the tabloid coverage they want this season, that's for sure. You should see my inbox already. Holy crap.— RealitySteve (@RealitySteve) September 7, 2017
