ABC Greenlights New TV Show About Gay Mexican-American Dads

ABC has decided to move forward with the production of a new comedy series which will star Tejano, a Mexican-American living in Southern Texas who decides to move back home to be near his family. He turns some heads however, when he moves back with a husband and a baby. The network hopes the show will incorporate the "modern family" story-telling audiences are familiar with, while expanding on the genre and offering new, forward-thinking twists to serialized television.

The show is somewhat auto-biographical for one its creators, Rob Sudduth, who "was born and raised by a Latino family in Texas, and is married to longtime The Young & the Restless actor Greg Rikaart." The two have recently welcomed a baby into their lives, which should provide plenty of inspiration for the new series!

The series is also c0-created by Casey Johnson and David Windsor who have experience working with comedies such as Don’t Trust the B in Apt 23 starring Jessica Jones’s Krysten Ritter and The Real O’Neals. Rob Sudduth’s credits include writing on The Real O’Neals, The New Normal, and the Red Band Society.

This new show looks like an amazing step forward for both comedy and network television as a whole! Though it will be a while until it actually hits the airwaves, we've already got the popcorn ready.
