Since you're likely to see it dozens of times a day, your phone's lock screen is a great place to throw up one of your favorite pictures.
For many of us that might mean a snap of our celebrity crush. So, what happens when friends and coworkers who don't know any better assume the image on your lock screen is your significant other?
It seems that's exactly what happened to a lot of people on Twitter who began sharing the awkward and hilarious stories of mistaken identity.
Sometimes the mistake can be flattering. Apparently one Tesco cashier didn't recognize A-Lister Emily Blunt as the woman on her customer's lock screen and assumed she was his girlfriend. We should all be so lucky.
My lock screen alternates between Antoni from Queer Eye and Sam Smith. It’s the modern technological cosmic wish list. One of them will marry me.— Love, Craig (@cracka1984) July 1, 2018
Other times though, you might not be sure how to feel.
Just remember, if you're going to lie about it, be ready for the consequences.
Omg this is absolutely something I would do. I feel your pain girl😂— MizDizocta (@AshleyStrain10) July 3, 2018
Say he just died a tragic death something horrid so they won't ask anymore questions.— WzA (@EdwardsJorj) July 3, 2018
Make up crazy stories every day for however long you work there. Then, who you move on. Let her down lmao.— C.I.T.Y. (@Tyler731K) July 3, 2018
No matter what friends or strangers think, though, you can always rely on family to give you a harsh reality check.
