If you've been looking to lose weight (lots of us are, no shame in that) but you also don't really want to give up alcohol (lots of us don't, no shame in that either) then a recent study might make your day.
The American Chemical Society has found that the sugars in tequila lower your overall blood sugar and may make you eat less. Translation: possible weight loss! Add this to recent studies that found tequila helps you maintain bone strength and maybe, just maybe, we can call tequila a health food.
Twitter is all about it.
I just read tequila has over TWENTY FIVE health benefits... and the only health benefit water has is keeping you hydrated 😴— Travis Orr (@travis_orr1) April 5, 2018

Evidently, this isn't new knowledge.
Pale, Thin People Need "Tequila." It brings back the glow of health to bloodless cheeks--it makes dragging footsteps quick & elastic--makes work & exercise a pleasure instead of a drudgery--because it's a TRUE TONIC & acts as only a good tonic can.--Evening Star, March 31, 1897— ThePassionateFoodie (@RichardPF) April 17, 2018
