Being a regular person with a famous name is probably not all it's cracked up to be. You have to hear the same old tired jokes and are constantly compared to your more famous counterpart. But for once the shoe was on the other foot for former Friends star David Schwimmer.
Today the London Stock Exchange Group announced the appointment of their new chief executive, David Schwimmer, but not that David Schwimmer. The new LSE head is a former Goldman Sachs investment banker, which makes him far more qualified than Ross Geller to run the 217-year-old exchange.
The confusion was cleared up quickly but that didn't stop the flood of jokes on Twitter:
I wonder if anyone told him life was going to be that way?— NICK RITZER (@NICKRITZER) April 13, 2018
I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who thought they'd hired Ross Geller 😂😂😂😂😂— Brookesey 🐝 (@brookesey66) April 13, 2018
And some were worried he might not be the best person for the job:
But others thought he looked more than qualified...
THE ONE WHERE ROSS RANG THE BELL. THE ONE WITH THE CIRCUIT BREAKER. THE ONE WITH A MASSIVE GLOBAL CORRECTION. I'm here all night.— Emma Haslett (@emmahaslett) April 13, 2018
If things don't work out, the LSE can always rely on the other David Schwimmer when the rain starts to pour.
