Dawson's Creek first entered our collective consciousness twenty years ago, and with it came Joshua Jackson, Michelle Williams, Katie Holmes, and of course, James Van Der Beek. The show ran for six seasons and launched the careers of many an actor. But it also launched James Van Der Beek into the glory of meme-dom.
You know which one we're talking about. This one:
As it turns out, there are actually two very important people who have not seen it: Michelle Williams and Katie Holmes. But never fear! At a cast reunion hosted by EW, everyone got to drink it in.
You can check out the moment down below:
For the TL;DW crowd, James Van der Beek says:
I feel like everybody on this show cried more than I did and I was the one who got caught in the loop!
Joshua Jackson retorts:
It’s not how many times you cried. It’s how you cried.
Later, Van der Beek says:
It’s hilarious to me that you can work for six years on a show … and it gets boiled down to three seconds. It’s a perfect way-of-the-internet.
I mean, it seems people have some major Dawson's Creek nostalgia:
Did I just weep uncontrollably watching the series finale of Dawson’s Creek?— Courtney Henggeler (@HenggelerCourt) April 2, 2018
I’ve been to some locations while in Wilmington for OTH cons!! My mom is a fan of Dawson’s Creek so when we went together we stopped at some! I will definitely tweet about it as I watch it. 😊— skylar (@offendingmoms) April 2, 2018
And this person was hopeful for a reboot:
While these people wanted to let sleeping dogs lie:
Don't go ruining a good thing! Let's leave it as perfect as it was.— Gigi Frias (@GigiFrias) March 29, 2018
And this person thought we should at least get a movie:
How 'bout just a movie length this is where everyone is now thing(with Jen still alive!)? Or something involving Alexander, Lily and Amy with a new boy moving to Capeside instead? 😄— Fibbing, Sherlock! (Scully + Mulder 4 EVA) 🌈 (@icannotjustify) March 31, 2018
If we don't get something, we just may...
