Melania Trump pulls one of the most hypocritical moves on Twitter by posting about the importance of teaching children about cyber safety and cyber bullying. It's no secret that president Trump spews unfiltered talk on Twitter and is one of the worst cyber bullies America has to offer. That being said, Twitter was floored when Melania posted about cyber safety and how important it is in today's world.
It was a very productive meeting on cyber safety & how to teach our children to be responsible digital citizens. Thank you @amazon @Facebook@FOSI @Google @m_Beckerman @Microsoft @Twitter & @snap for coming to the @WhiteHouse today & sharing your valuable insight and expertise. pic.twitter.com/YY2srrbYhP— Melania Trump (@FLOTUS) March 20, 2018
Melania stated that she knows that it's controversial for her to speak about this issue, given that her husband is the worst offender of cyber bullying. Her actions had everyone scratching their heads!
“In my role as First Lady, I receive many letters from children who have been bullied or feel threatened on social media,” Melania Trump said at a press conference. “I’m well aware that people are skeptical of me discussing this topic.” pic.twitter.com/WojzSU4IhQ— POLITICO (@politico) March 20, 2018
Everyone was itching for her to address the elephant in the room, but of course she did not. She had nothing to say about the example that the president of the United States was setting for these children she was talking about, which had Twitter in an uproar.
Maybe you should start by teaching your bully of a husband @realDonaldTrump not to insult everyone he comes in contact with. How can you be an advocate for cyber bullying when the president is the biggest bully ever?...ESPECIALLY ON TWITTER! pic.twitter.com/bs512yZPwF— Tamika Shipman (@Tamishipman) March 21, 2018
Shameful, disgraceful...start at home Melania. This is complete hypocrisy.— Yvette Hoffman (@radiochick841) March 20, 2018
You always tweet as though you've never met your husband.— Forever Logical 🌊🇺🇸🌊 (@ForeverLogical) March 20, 2018
I understand you care about this but your husband is the biggest bully...please stop him, then you wld hv more credibility— Dara Nelson (@Energeee) March 20, 2018
Might you begin this conversation with your husband- the biggest bully in USA? Good luck....with that...— Gwat (@sogwatt) March 20, 2018
The amount of shade thrown at Melania for being a hypocrite was never ending, and for good reason. She didn't use probably one of the best current examples in the world of a cyber bully, her husband! This was a major opportunity to make it clear what is not acceptable and respectful behavior online, but she blew it.
I'm sorry, but we cannot take you seriously. Unless you call out your husband, his family, and his lawyers, you have no credibiltiy. Your statement is a joke.— Rita Beard (@RitaBeard13) March 20, 2018
We’re not skeptical of you discussing this topic. We’re skeptical of you discussing this topic considering who you’re married to. That’s what we refer to as a contradiction. A glaring one.— Edward Browden (@edwardbrowden) March 20, 2018
Also show me how you're an authority on this anyway. Background in media studies? social work? child psychology? cyberspace?— Glo G (@Growsbeak) March 20, 2018
Nude modelling? check ✅
You would think that after everything that the president has put out, she would have something to say about his actions and this particular subject.
Sorry Melania, but you really messed up this opportunity to speak out against hate on the internet. Bye gurl!
