A Boston lawyer, Jason Triplett, was hanging out with friends in a local bar on Tuesday when he noticed a police vehicle stuck in the snow. Triplett ventured out into the storm and pushed the van free, even though no one else in the bar bothered to help. Another patron, Christopher B. Haynes, recorded the good deed and posted it to his Facebook page, where it quickly went viral.
Oh, and Triplett was dressed as Elsa from Frozen.
Triplett, 37, seems to be taking his instant fame in stride. He told People:
Everyone will be over it by noon. But if this is my 15 minutes, I would like to leverage it to meet Adam Rippon.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Rippon was shown the video and asked if he had a message for Triplett.
In response, Rippon said:
They say not all heroes wear capes, but sometimes they do.
There's even a petition to help persuade Rippon to meet Triplett, and it's near its goal:
Okay, we may not totally get Rippon's message but people are certainly applauding Triplett's good deed:
A drag queen dressed as Elsa just single-handedly freed a stuck police wagon from a blizzard in the middle of March. If that sentence doesn't perfectly encapsulate the spirit of Boston, I don't know what does.— Sarah McGonagall (@sarahmcgbeauty) March 14, 2018

No word yet on whether Rippon intends to grant Triplett's wish.
