We know the news has been kind of heavy lately. Things in the world are going sideways and a lot of times we feel pretty powerless to make a difference. This isn't one of those stories. Every now and then the news gods throw us a bone (see what we did there? eeeeehh?) and we end up talking about pups.
On Wednesday, two very little dogs caused one very big traffic jam when they convinced themselves that a highway in Phoenix was their own personal playground. The pair darted in and out of traffic, creating quite a stir. Eventually, they wound up leading drivers and police officers on a low-speed chase.
News outlets tried to report the incident with a serious tone:

Oddly, this incident is happening almost exactly three years after another highway animal escape — with llamas:

Finally, because we care for public safety, we're going to share an image of the fugitives in custody. Be warned: this image may be difficult for dog lovers, as the suspects are adorably tuckered out and clearly not interested in snoot booping.
