KFC ran out of chicken across England and people are losing it So much so that the Tower Hamlets police had to sink to a new all time low and actually tweet asking residents not to call them over the lack of chicken. Yes, you read that right. The police, had to ask citizen's not to call over chicken.
It is not a police matter if your favourite eatery is not serving the menu that you desire.
The chicken shortage isn't ending anytime soon for those desperate for their KFC fix. 500 out of 900 stores are still closed while others limp along on a select menu. The blame for the shortage is being blamed on a new contract with DHL delivery shortage.
This grim message was delivered instead of extra-crispy thighs.
We anticipate the number of closures will reduce today and over the coming days as our teams work flat out all hours to clear the backlog. Each day more deliveries are being made; however, we expect the disruption to some restaurants to continue over the remainder of the week, meaning some will be closed and others operating with a reduced menu or shortened hours.
We know that this might have inconvenienced some of you over the last few days, and disappointed you when you wanted your fried chicken fix - we're really sorry about that.
Oh, you don't know the half of it.
thousands of people in the UK are calling the police because they haven't been able to order KFC— Colossal is Crazy (@massiveismental) February 20, 2018
this might be humanity's lowest point
Dang! Is this a glimpse into the future?
Um... If Brits are calling the police because KFC ran out of chicken for a couple of days, how's are people going to handle post-brexit border delays & disruptions given that something like 25% of food imports come from the EU27? https://t.co/YuUlJv6At3— Andrew Stroehlein (@astroehlein) February 20, 2018
At least they were getting close to pinning this on someone.
Some folks did see an upside.
Hey, desperate times call for desperate measures.
