In the cutthroat world of business, it can be hard to get ahead, and companies must sometimes resort to drastic measures. For instance, on Tuesday, January 30, many organizations from Minnesota found themselves competing in a deadly serious "Nice Off."
Which company could be nicest to their customers and each other? They took to Twitter to find out!
A chain of niceness began building on itself:
There was almost too much nice to handle!
We'll go second! How about a record number of Minnesotans donating gifts to families in our treatment programs for our Adopt-A-Family program? 1000 adults and children - many who otherwise wouldn't - received gifts thanks to generous Minnesotans!#MnNice #NiceOff pic.twitter.com/cfXajNkwFD— Avivo (@AvivoMN) January 30, 2018
Every business in Minnesota was more than welcome:
That's awfully nice of you @usbank. We feel like the #MnNice thing to do is dramatically escalate our thank you and invite you to tour of one of our member ranches or farms. Maybe @SunCountryAir can help you out...? 😉 #NiceOff pic.twitter.com/ySTVqQe1tG— Land O'Lakes, Inc. (@LandOLakesInc) January 30, 2018
Why be cold to each other when you're already dealing with the Minnesota winter?
The ultimate #MnNice #NiceOff: taking the Polar Plunge to support more than 8,200 @SOMinnesota athletes. We’ve got an opportunity for you out-of-towners: join us THIS SATURDAY in Maple Grove! https://t.co/mULR5weHyM https://t.co/8WfUKazHne— Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Minnesota (@PlungeMN) January 31, 2018
Minnesotans were proud of the way their businesses were treating each other:
The nice off continued into the next day...
We’re always in for a nice getaway. That being said, it’s a good thing we all have at least five neighbors on hand that will take care of Rover while we’re beaching. You betcha, help is always a doorbell away. Right, @Target? #NiceOff pic.twitter.com/BhA0y3TqYX— Sun Country Airlines (@SunCountryAir) January 31, 2018
A Jell-O GIF distracted people for a little while:
In the early years of Jello the product wasn't selling. Someone hit on the idea of distributing free Jello cookbooks, the rest is MidWestern history.— terrψ (@sandcastler1) January 31, 2018
Well, yeah. I got my Grandma's cookbooks, and one of them is entirely devoted to jello. She used to make the most delicious things.— BookManiaLinda (@LindaWonder) January 31, 2018
But then it was back to being nice!
The niceness seemed to go on and on:
A vacation sounds amazing— first things first though, finish building the #LOLFarmBowl course! We’re working super hard, yah know, to be good hosts. You’re all invited! We’ll even save a special seat for you @usbank #NiceOff pic.twitter.com/cSGzAf9piP— Land O'Lakes, Inc. (@LandOLakesInc) January 31, 2018
And on. It will be a while before these companies forget those pleasant couple of days.
But all good things must come to an end:
We'd wager everyone who participated slept well that night, and maybe earned themselves some new customers!
