Piers Morgan Just Tried To Turn On Some Christmas Lights--It Didn't Work Out So Well

Although "dim" might be the first word that comes to some people's minds when thinking of Piers Morgan, for the first time in recent memory it really wasn't his fault. The oft-maligned TV personality was slated to ring in the Christmas season at a tree lighting ceremony in Stockbridge, Hampshire, on Monday, but when it came time to shine, the lights were a no show. Adding insult to injury, the non-event was carried live on ITV Meridian and broadcast to most of South East England.

Even before the festive debacle, people couldn't resist lighting Morgan up on Twitter.

Morgan later Tweeted his frustration with the organizers of the event:

And soon after that, his frustration over being turned into a Twitter Moment:

At one point Morgan realized how bad things would be once his Good Morning Britain co-host Susanna Reid got hold of the clip.

But by then it was already too late for Morgan...

With the help of ITV Sport's Mark Pougatch, Morgan already seems to be plotting his revenge.

Editorial note: An earlier version of this article referred to Piers Morgan as a "TV personality." We regret having implied Piers Morgan has a personality.
