According to The Huffington Post, a Florida man named Bruce John Homer decided to take matters into his own hands when he grew increasingly frustrated with the fact that his local police weren't doing anything about a dangerous intersection in which people often run the stop sign. Homer decided that it would be a good idea to cause a car wreck in the intersection to draw attention to the issue. The Daily Commercial stated,
"The driver of the SUV that Homer hit Sunday said he was coming through the intersection and Homer pulled out in front of him in his truck. The man said Homer then approached the wrecked SUV and told him, 'You ran the stop sign and this is the 10th accident at this intersection and they won’t do anything until someone dies.'"
According to a local news-station, WFTV, Homer told the first deputies to arrive on the scene, “People are always running the stop sign at this intersection and since you guys don’t do anything about it, I did."
Bruce John Homer was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and reckless driving causing property damage with personal injury.
