Ferry Company Asks Internet To Name Their Newest Ferry--And You Know How That Goes
A total of six new commuter ferries in Sydney, Australia will be named based on the popular public vote.
One ferry has already received it's name, Ferry McFerryface.
The name stems from a viral joke in the U.K. that started when the public voted to name a polar research vessel Boaty McBoatface last year. This was followed by a train being named Trainy McTrainyface in Sweden, and not we have Ferry McFerryface.
The majority loved the name and praised it's glory!
There were people who really enjoyed the fun ferry name and some who certainly did not. The haters even demanded a rename.
The Australian sense of humor trumps the concerns of those opposed to the silly name in this case.
All hail the newest Sydney commuter ferry, Ferry McFerryface!
