Twitter Is Extremely Angry At Henry Ford Right Now--And We Don't Blame Them

Americans in the workforce know that a 40-hour workweek can be grueling.

So when Investopedia posted a fun fact about Henry Ford:

Not everyone was keen on giving Ford all the credit, however:

According to Wikipedia: 

Ford had made the decision to boost productivity, as workers were expected to put more effort into their work in exchange for more leisure time, and because he believed decent leisure time was good for business, since workers would actually have more time to purchase and consume more goods. However, altruistic concerns also played a role, with Ford explaining "It is high time to rid ourselves of the notion that leisure for workmen is either β€˜lost time’ or a class privilege."

Americans still work more than people in other countries. Maybe a reduction in hours might not be the worst thing:
