Margaret Atwood Brought Her Purse On Stage At The Emmys, And Now We Love Her Even More

Sunday night's Emmys brought many shows their first award. Hulu's series The Handmaid's Tail took home eight awards, including Outstanding Drama Series. Margaret Atwood, the show's writer and supervising producer, and author of the book on which the series is based, joined the cast and producers onstage to accept the award.

Atwood's book was published in 1985, and the series aired in 2017 to critical acclaim.

Sarah Silverman, two-time Emmy Award winning writer and comedian, noticed something about Atwood's ensemble:

Silverman wasn't the only one to notice Atwood's purse:

Atwood's purse, aka The Handbag's Tale, brought some welcome humor to the politically-charged Emmys.
